We are already used to feeding on rumors and leaks, because brands also use these to shake up the news media a bit in anticipation of future releases. And what is becoming more and more common is that the leaks have so much detail that practically nothing remains to be revealed for the presentation of the devices themselves.
We will never know to what extent it has been an authorized leak or not, but Evan Blass has published practically all the characteristics of the cameras of the future OPPO Find X3 Pro, a phone that should be presented next month, still without a detailed date. Thanks to Blass We know that it will have four cameras and we also know what each of them will do.
A 50 megapixel couple in front
We can start with the first of the cameras although we could treat two of them as a couple due to their similarity. We talk about a pair of 50 megapixel sensors signed by Sony. Specifically, two IMX766 sensors that make up both the main camera, with a still unknown lens, and the ultra wide angle camera, with a shorter focal length than the first but also unknown.
This sensor, the IMX 766, has previously reached the OPPO family. Specifically, it is the sensor of the main camera of the OPPO Reno5 Pro +. Each sensor is 1 / 1.56 inch in size and features 1 micrometer pixels or micron side. From previous news it follows that this IMX766 is exclusive to OPPO so it makes sense that it will reappear on board the Find X3 Pro and we probably will not see it in other brands.
Along with these first two cameras, the OPPO Find X3 Pro will mount a camera of 13 megapixels with 2x optical zoom which, according to the leak, was already used in last year’s OPPO Find X2. Presumably they share other characteristics such as lens aperture (f / 2.4), focal length (52 millimeters), or stabilization and focus (OIS, PDAF). But we will have to wait to verify it.
Finally, the OPPO Find X3 Pro will be equipped with a fourth camera with 3 megapixels for macro focus. The leak speaks of this 3 megapixel macro camera will offer up to 25x optical magnification and it seems that OPPO will advertise it alongside the term “microscope”. We will see what finally happens but these are the cameras of the OPPO Find X3 Pro. Without being official yet, of course.
