In all the time I have been going around Android I have tried thousands of games that have hooked me in one way or another, but not all of them have endured on my phone that long as to consider them essential for me. The last one, ‘8 Ball Pool’, has passed the cut and I spend a few minutes every time I can.

We are talking about a competitive pool online with different formats in which we also find tournaments, in case we want to commit to playing a maximum of three games (quarterfinals, semifinals, final). It has social components to get you hooked and rewards for you to come back every day and keep playing. And it has definitely caught me.

The games usually last about 5 minutes, so it is an ideal game for summer and killing free time. You can pay, of course you can, but I I have been playing for months without dropping a euro and I have not had any problems beyond not being able to access certain tables. A 10/10 set.

Hearthstone

Hearthstone

Recommended by Ricardo Aguilar

I’m not too playful on mobile, but lately it has given me very strong retaking ‘Hearthstone’. He is the father of the CCG (Collectible Card Games), and for a few months, with new classes and cards, it’s more fun than ever. I am not going to spoil, but they have incorporated a new very competitive and easy to play class so that anyone can get started and start winning games quickly.

The games last about 10 minutes, so it doesn’t steal too much time and helps kill those free time. It is used to give the coconut, have a good time and, if we have friends who play, better than better, because we can fight against them.

The Almost Gone and Stardew Valley

Stardew valley

Recommended by Iván Linares

Since summer can be long, and it never hurts to have a few games downloaded just in case boredom ends up being more suffocating than heat, on my mobile I plan to carry a great little collection of titles. Many are already Android classics, but I will focus on two games that I have not yet passed: ‘The Almost Gone’ and ‘Stardew Valley’.

‘The Almost Gone’ is a high-quality plot game that offers scenes designed with care and ‘point and click’ mechanics to touch objects and solve constant puzzles. The story is the best of the game, a story full of mystery and with more than a scare. By cons, it is somewhat short, so it does not hold a continuous session of several hours. You have to dose.

The second is already a classic in video games, also from my recommendations: ‘Stardew Valley’. This RPG title mixed with farm game hours and hours of entertainment ahead, so it endures several summers in a row of almost constant play. It is an excellent purchase, especially for those who are passionate about the classic role.

SimCity BuildIt

Simcity Buildit

I have to confess that I have had a time to play a little with my mobile, with this work from home I no longer get public transport, which was the time when I played the most. However, I also confess that for a few days my hook to ‘SimCity BuildIt’ has been renewed. I’m not new, actually my city is already a metropolisBut it had been abandoned for a long time.

Of this game I like that, although it is addictive, the waiting times until the materials are made prevent me from spending too much time playing and I do not have that feeling of “wasting time” that assaults me with other games. Definitely, a casual game to distract me at specific moments, but without absorbing much time.

Gorogoa

‘Gorogoa’ is the last and strange game that has kept me hooked to the mobile screen. It’s a bit of a weird game where you must complete puzzles playing divided into several panels. Or, rather, solve a puzzle that does not stop evolving and changing.

It is a curious game in which the puzzles are much more imaginative than finding this or doing that, and the dynamics change surprisingly. It is neither very easy nor very difficult, but the intermediate point that keeps you hooked trying for a while without getting desperate. All this with hand-illustrated graphics and a story that, while somewhat difficult to follow, is interesting.

GRAY and Dead Cells

Gray

Recommended by Cosmos

For me there are two essential games that you have to play this summer if you haven’t already. The first is ‘GRAY’, a work of art turned into an adventure game full of platforms and simple puzzles. Its graphic section and its soundtrack are perfect to relax at night while trying to take the cool.

The second essential game for this summer is ‘Dead Cells’, the hit “roguevania” action packed, permanent death and dungeons that change game after game. The best thing about the game is that it allows us to play at our own pace, with which we can play fast games or recreate ourselves exploring each corner of a dungeon.

Mario Kart Tour

Mario Kart Tour

I do not consider myself a very “playful” person, and perhaps for that reason, lately I amuse myself with a title whose protagonist is well known both within the gamer sector and outside it: ‘Mario Kart Tour’. With the, can I have some quick games no matter the time and place, and with the addition of multiplayer mode to compete against other real players, either with friends or with random people from anywhere in the world.

Beyond its game modes (basic and skidding), I especially like the ability to run both on circuits inspired by different cities around the world like in classic Mario Kart circuits. And that without forgetting the thematic pilots that add to the Mario Kart characters of all time. In short, a crazy racing title to hang out and be able to challenge whoever you want.
