Waze updates the pre-trip screen to offer information added to that of the displacement itself. Once the update reaches all users, the map application will offer all the available routes and the incidents that are delaying the routes.
Using a free GPS navigation app often leads to an often heated discussion: Google Maps or Waze? They are not the only applications that allow you to reach any point in the world using voice guidance, but there is no doubt that they are the most used. And they are updated frequently, as is the case with the latest novelty just landed on Waze: it now offers more information before you start the journey.
Alternative routes, traffic conditions and real-time information
Currently Waze already offers different information depending on the location of the next destination since the loading screen allows you to view the chosen route with the option of selecting a different departure time; and it also has lower accesses to alternative routes, to share routes and to see the route. This changes with the last change on this screen.
As reported by Waze, the driving platform has deeply renewed the screen before starting the trip with much more information related to the chosen route. In this way the traveler not only gets the most accurate planning (always according to the system), Waze also offers all alternatives, traffic conditions and incidents in real time.
Through the new loading screen, Waze aims for the traveler to have a global vision of their journey instead of having the best choice based on distance and traffic. The map will show the different routes with the chosen one highlighted (in a similar way to what Google Maps highlights), it will offer real-time data of the different routes, it will include the reasons for choosing one or another route (traffic jams, tolls and other incidents) and other information related to the planned trip.
The idea of Waze is that each traveler gets all the available options at a glance so that let him choose according to his needs. All in an accessible way from the screen before starting the journey: this makes it much easier to take into account the different road conditions.
