The constantly developing WhatsApp Beta application, whose version is updated practically every day, not only allows us to be among the first to enjoy its news, such as the 24 new emojis, but also through its source code we are discovering its next news.

The last two WhatsApp Beta updates released yesterday (2.21.17.15) and today (2.21.17.16) release an improvement for the preview of web links and we anticipate that soon we will have more options to configure temporary messages.

Preview larger links

WhatsApp

Since WhatsApp launched at the end of 2015 the preview of links had received few changes in these six years, which is said soon, but this has begun to change. In WhatsApp Beta has now started to show a larger link preview.

Now instead of showing the thumbnail of the image in small to the left of the link now shows the image above much larger. With this change, the images of the links take more prominence in the conversation.

In the stable version of WhatsApp it continues to show the preview of links with the thumbnail in small as in the following screenshot:

WhatsApp prepares two new deadlines for temporary messages

Disappearing Messages 90 Days Android Kks

Since WhatsApp launched at the end of last year these temporary messages are automatically deleted after seven days, but for a few months we have known that the company want to improve this option with new deadlines.

Until now it had been leaked that WhatsApp wants to allow us to select that the messages self-destruct after 24 hours, but in the latest beta we know that is preparing one more deadline: 90 days.

In this way, in the future WhatsApp could allow us to choose if we want temporary messages to be automatically deleted in 24 hours, 7 days or in 90 days. We will be attentive to future updates to see if these options finally reach your messaging client.
