WhatsApp is renovating its audio recorder: you will be able to listen to your voice message before sending it

WhatsApp is slowly revamping its popular messaging client. In recent months we are seeing how it is redesigning its interface, adding more rounded chat bubbles or changing the colors of the application. Well, in the latest beta version of WhatsApp it is the turn of the voice messages.

WhatsApp Beta is activating in a staggered way a new design for your audio recorder, which debuts two important changes, one of them being a feature in high demand for years.

This is the new WhatsApp audio recorder

The first novelty that we find is the new interface of the recorder, which now during recording shows some voice waves in order to visually warn the user that it is recording correctly when the sound is detected. Not like before that only showed the duration of the recording.

The second novelty, and the most important, is that now we can stop the recording. This will allow us listen to the voice message before sending it, since after stopping the recording the option to play the audio will appear. So we no longer have to do the trick to listen to the audio note before sending it.

This new interface will only appear when we block the recording of the audio note by sliding our finger up, showing that new sound wave design and the new option to stop and listen to the audio. If we record a voice message by keeping the finger pressed, it will continue with the same interface and behavior.

Apparently WhatsApp Beta in its version 2.21.18.3 is activating this new feature gradually, which may take days to reach your account, or weeks if you have the stable version of WhatsApp installed.
