With the fateful US veto, Huawei had to promote the development of its own software in order to cover most of the gap left by the lack, mainly, of Google. Harmony OS is the main answer to the situation, also applications like Petal Maps, one of the most evolved in Huawei mobiles (even for other phones, which is on Google Play). As a result of this evolution, Petal Maps includes functions at the level of its competition. And they can already be tested.

Huawei has evolved its Petal Maps from the beginning to offer not only maps and point-to-point guided navigation, two basic aspects of this type of location applications, now the application includes different layers that offer up to real-time traffic. This information is extremely useful for plotting routes, also when choosing alternative routes.
As a result of evolution, Huawei has announced the latest news in Petal Maps, both for Huawei phones and for those who install Petal Maps from the Google Play Store. The app is very complete, it includes advanced route planning, the aforementioned traffic in real time, public transport information, offers data related to Covid 19 and, recently added, Petal Maps allows you to view the meteorology with its weather layer at a glance and offers up-to-date information for common destinations.
The Petal Maps weather layer includes real-time weather information with 24-hour forecast and for the next 14 days. This information includes the temperature as well as the thermal sensation, probability of rain, wind and humidity. This layer can be consulted for the current situation and also for any other part.
With travel cards, Huawei adds a fast way to Petal Maps to check the usual routes home and to work. So you can see everything you need at a glance while always being accessible, just like Google Maps. In addition, the application has improved its design and ease of use, the customization of the routes is also expanded.
