Contacts is the name given to the Google contacts application and therefore the default on Pixel, Nexus, Android One and others with a stock-like experience. Unlike Phone, Contacts can be installed from Google Play in other terminals even if they have Samsung One UI, EMUI or others.

If you are looking for something a step beyond finding duplicates, you will find it in Contacts Optimizer, although it will cost you 1.92 euros to get the Pro version. The free version allows you to edit contacts and find and delete duplicates.
This optimization is precisely the most interesting part of the application, as it allows you sanitize the phone numbers of your contacts including the country code successfully, find contacts with missing important data, clear empty fields from all contacts, or move contacts between different accounts.

As for the synchronization of contacts, the truth is that the process works quite well and the process is comfortable to find mobile contacts in other social networks, with the advantage that the photos will be kept updated periodically. The bad news is that as soon as you uninstall the application, the magic will end, returning the contacts to their previous photo.
