The agreement between both companies was signed today, October 21, as is reflected in the official statement published by Huami in their website. Thanks to the agreement Huami will continue to be the preferred manufacturer for Xiaomi in terms of ‘wearables’. That is, the brand will continue to develop and manufacture the successful Xiaomi Mi Band or Mi Watch watches, among other accessories compatible with the smartphone.

Apart from maintaining the status of ‘preferred partner’ for Xiaomi regarding the development of ‘wearables’, Huami and Xiaomi will form an alliance to promote innovation and development in processors focused on Artificial Intelligence. They will also investigate the improvement of algorithms for sports and health registration, a basic pillar of the native characteristics of an activity bracelet or smartwatch. It is not surprising since Huami has a huge experience with Amazfit: the brand of ‘wearables’ has managed to create not only a huge portfolio of devices, also software for these devices.
